Bus Driver Steps In For Little Girl Who Lost Her Mom

by Amy Paige 4/4/2018

Philip Pieri and his kids suffered the unimaginable when his wife passed away two years ago from a rare illness. The newly widowed father from Utah had to pick up the pieces as best he could.

Since he leaves for working in the early morning hours, Philip taught his 11-year-old daughter Isabella some of the things she'd have to do by herself without her mom to help. Therefore, every morning since her mother died, Isabella gets herself ready for school.

But while Philip was able to teach Isabella most of her day-to-day tasks, there was one thing he just couldn't get right... and that was doing Isabella's hair in the morning. At first, Philip was so clueless about styling hair and keeping it tangle-free that he actually gave her a crew cut!

Of course, Isabella wasn't a fan of her new look. When her hair grew back, all she knew to do was pull it back into a ponytail.

That's where Isabella's school bus driver, Tracey Dean, comes into the picture. Students know Tracey as motherly, nurturing and outgoing. She treats them just as she does her own children.

Isabella had noticed Tracey helping a classmate with her braids and smoothing her frizz. Unsatisfied with her boring ponytails, the young girl mustered up the courage to ask Tracey if she would braid her hair.

Years back, Tracey was diagnosed with breast cancer. Faced with the possibility of having her kids grow up without their mom, Tracey began to take particular care of the children she drove to school each day.

In the video below, Philip describes what happens on his daughter's bus, each and every day... and it's nothing short of amazing.
