Auditions are nerve wracking for most. Your palms and feet get sweaty, your heart starts to race and sometimes your mouth even starts to feel dry making you even more anxious.
For 10-year-old Mathea-Mari, she found herself standing before a huge crowd of people being the only one up on stage. All eyes were on her as she auditioned for the part of Annie by singing the famous song titled “Tomorrow.”
Mathea-Mari is from Bergen, Norway, and dreams of one day becoming a professional singer. The bubbly, blonde-haired girl walked out on stage with her long glistening locks of hair as the crowd clapped in encouragement.
Within seconds, the music was already playing and Mathea-Mari took a breath as she nervously stood tugging on a piece of her shirt in anticipation. She’s clearly nervous.
Her first note is a little shaky but she quickly recovers and her voice is oh so sweet. There’s definitely an innocence to her voice that immediately captivates the audience.
She looks at ease after the first few lines from the song escape her lips. Sometimes it's good to feel nervous and at such a young age, Mathea-Mari has already overcome the fear that most adults try to hide from, which is standing alone in public to perform.
