Weeks After Carrie Underwood Announces Break From Music, Star Shares Vital Message With Son

In 2016, country music superstar Carrie Underwood flew around the globe for a total of 92 shows on her Storyteller Tour. The incredible 33-year-old performer finished the whirlwind year, then kicked off 2017 by releasing Dirty Laundry, her 25th single, in January. But she wasn't done yet...
She also made a guest appearance at the Grammy Awards. Carrie also snuck into her crazy busy schedule a jump out of an airplane. But she confessed to Today while backstage at the Grammy's that her creative mind currently is blank.
So Carrie, who married Mike Fisher, captain of the hockey team Nashville Predators, in 2010, has decided to take some time off. She plans to tap into that creative empty space and come up with something amazing for her fans. She also will be spending much deserved quality time with her adorable son, Isaiah, who turned two Feb. 27.
Carrie told Today that she's very excited about the blank canvas her creativity can unleash itself on and looks forward to spending days on end focused on her other life, being a wife and a mom. She'll return to music when "inspiration hits."
"I'm nervous because I want whatever I do next to be amazing, so I'm kind of taking a little break right now and being a mom and being a wife and going to see some hockey games to see my husband play."
Carrie promised that she will return to the stage. But for the time being, she's waiting for inspiration to strike and lead her in a new direction. She's also enjoying singing with her son, who recently shared his adorable little voice with mom.
The song they shared on Instagram with fans is one that many people hold near to their hearts. It's a favorite among children to sing at Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and church. This song also teaches little ones a very important faith-based lesson.

After years of recording and performing, and of being on the road for an extended time, Carrie deserves a break from traveling. Fans will be thrilled when she returns with new music and a new album. But until then, we'll love to keep hearing Isaiah and Carrie. Wasn't their video adorable?
