Young Boy With Allergies Can Only Eat 7 Foods, Chick-Fil-A Decides To Take Action

It's not unusual to come across kids who are picky eaters. In fact, finding ones who will eat everything without a complaint might be more of an oddity than the norm. For some parents though, picky has a whole new meaning when it comes to dealing with young children who do it out of necessity rather than choice.
6-year old Christopher Cataldo lives in Houston, Texas, and at first glance he seems no different than other kids his age. His mom Kellie however, has to remember everyday that Christopher was born with severe food allergies which make 90% of what's available on the market harmful to his health.
To put it even more simply, Christopher's doctors only allow him to eat seven foods ... ever! It's hard to imagine the challenge of this for a curious and adventurous boy like Christopher. Thankfully, one of those seven foods includes the fast food chain Chick-fil-A's waffle fries!
Anyone who has ever tasted one, can see why this really does seem like a silver lining in an otherwise extremely restrictive diet.
Eating inside the restaurant however is not something Christopher can do since it means being exposed to other elements that he is allergic to, but according to Kellie:
" ... we go through the drive through one to two times a day ... it makes him feel like a normal kid ... He talks about owning a Chick-fil-A one day so he can go inside and eat inside,"
Lucky for Christopher, he won't need to wait till he is a grown-up to make that dream come true. Brad Munson, a Chick-fil-A franchisee owner who was opening a new store in the city, found out about Christopher's condition and decided to do something very special.
Before the grand opening day, Brad invited Christopher to come and spend some time inside the brand new facility as a store owner. He got a name tag and all the perks that went along with being an employee, including taking orders at the cash register, making his own batch of fries, and working the drive-through buttons!
Kellie teared up while describing how much joy this brought to her son:
" ... this is a dream that's coming true, just to be able to come in even for an hour or two, just to experience it ... it means the world. I couldn't have asked for a better gift today for him."
Chris who got to enjoy a fresh batch of fries, pretty much his favorite food ever, inside the restaurant summed up his excitement briefly but accurately:
"Yeah, yummy, thumbs up!"
Kellie was thrilled to see her son experience something so special and couldn't thank Brad enough for his generosity in making this possible for her son. In her words:
"He will relive in his mind this day everyday."
Here is the video showing just how excited Christopher felt being an owner for the day!
Could you imagine being allergic to 90% of the food on the planet? Christopher who has to live with the unusual condition, might not know any better, but thanks to Chick-fil-A, he at least got to enjoy one of his most favorite treats in the best way possible!
