Baby Screams Uncontrollably On Flight. One Look At Parents Sweaty Faces & Flight Attendant Knows

For as long as little babies continue to board aircrafts, we will continue to hear of stories, both horrible and otherwise, on how the rest of the passengers react to the tiny human's actions. In this particular story, the baby in question had made her parents hopeful for a stress-free flight by passing out before it was boarding time.
Whitney Poyntz and her husband were traveling from Palm Springs, California to Calgary, Canada with their 4-month-old named Kennedi, and given how well things had started they knew it was going to be an easy flight!
But of course, the first rule of parenting is that babies, even as little as Kennedi, know just when to surprise the parents. Later, as described by Whitney in her Facebook post:
"About 30 mins later all hell broke loose. Not sure if it was gas or maybe pressure but we did not have a happy baby, unfortunately those seats aren't made for rocking or trying to put a baby back to sleep."
Just minutes prior, Whitney and her husband had a sleeping child, headphones in their ears, and the anticipation of watching some videos in peace.
But of course, Kennedi must have sensed this enthusiasm and decided to join in on the fun, to put it kindly.
Much to the parents dismay, nothing was soothing their crying baby and they could feel the passengers' eyes glaring at them, asking, maybe even silently begging, to somehow quiet the child down.
For the poor flight attendants, the best thing to do in such situation seems to be to just ignore it, knowing that there isn't much you can do about it. In this case however, Whitney noticed that a female attendant named Ashley was walking towards them trying to ask them something:
"Ashley came up to us and asked if she could take her and walk up and down the isle... first thought in my head was 'umm a stranger wants to walk my screaming child up and down the isle?!?!"
But Whitney was desperate and so she handed the baby to this stranger and hoped for a miracle. Well, turns out, what Kennedi wanted was to be indeed held by a stranger and walked up and down the aisle.
In disbelief, Whitney thanked the gods and Ashley, and made sure she gave a much needed shout out to the airline and to Ashley on Facebook.
"Never would I ever think someone would ever do that, volunteer to take your screaming child, but she did. Westjet (Ashley) i would like to thank you for the over and above customer service (baby whispering) that you gave, truly the greatest airline."
Here is a video about Kennedi's very positive flight experience!
So now you know what the baby whisperer Ashley looks like in case you board the same flight with a crying child of your own!
Jokes aside, traveling with kids is never an easy thing for parents and for those who do take the plunge, it is rewarding to come across these pleasant surprises that make parenting that much easier.
In general for all passengers on a plane, maybe we can remind ourselves to be kind and patient towards each other knowing that the journey is short in the scheme of things and that a happy destination awaits!
