Days After Olivia Newton-Johns Health Update, Husband Hits Fans With Truth About Wife’s Battle

In 2008, Olivia Newton-John married businessman John Easterling. They fell in love while traveling, something they never thought would happen for either of them.
Olivia had already endured the mysterious disappearance in 2005 of her former partner, Patrick McDermott, which was heart-wrenching. But then reports surfaced that he had faked his death and actually was living in Mexico. The pain came rushing back all over again, but this time it was more of a betrayal. She also is a divorcee.
So when Oliva, 68, and John, 64, hit it off, they didn't wait to seal the deal. They married in a private ceremony in 2008 and have been living life to the fullest every since, falling truly, deeply, madly in love thanks to another chance at romance.
“I dated a little bit, but I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with him and then bam ... I’m very lucky I have a wonderful, beautiful husband who is just so loving and fantastic. I always tell my friends you’re never too old to find love. I found the love of my life at 59 going on 60! I’m grateful.”
Blessedly, Olivia's strong relationship with John is what's been supporting her as she faces a second battle against cancer. She first was diagnosed in 1992 with breast cancer, then her sister Rona died from brain cancer in 2013. Her father also had passed away from cancer.
The Australian darling who rose to fame as Sandy in Grease now has metastatic breast cancer that spread to her sacrum. But Olivia, John and her family remain positive.
“I am really grateful for and touched by the worldwide outpouring of love and concern. Thank you. I am feeling good and enjoying total support from my family and friends, along with a team of wellness and medical practitioners both here in the U.S. and at my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia. I’m totally confident that my new journey will have a positive success story to inspire others!"
Olivia has already begun photon radiation therapy that's been boosted by other natural wellness therapies. John said her pain level went from an eight to a two after just one week of her treatment regimen.
“We both have the same unshakeable belief that she’s going to have a wonderful success story. We’re not trying to be positive. We have an absolute knowingness that we can turn this around.”
Olivia's fans both in her native country and around the world have sent well wishes and prayers to the singer. She's expressed her gratitude for everyone's outpouring of support and maintains an incredibly stoic, positive outlook.
We join Olivia's millions of fans in sending her positive vibes. We wish Olivia well on her medical journey and offer up prayers for healing.
