Since the dawn of mankind, the one thing that has consistently kept us excited and grateful is the miracle of birth! Regardless of how much medicine and technology evolve and make the process easier and safer for all, the wonder of creating and bring a new human being into the world will never cease to astonish.
And speaking of medicine, there is also no shortage of happy stories where parents who otherwise couldn't conceive a baby naturally, had success with modern methods like in vitro fertilization. When using this alternative method, there is even the increased chance of having multiples babies at one go!
In this next story, we get the rare pleasure of hearing about a natural pregnancy that in the end, had a chance of one in 15 million...
Bethani Webb and husband Tim live in rural Alberta, Canada, marrying in June of 2015. Later in September of that same year, the newlyweds received exciting news when Bethani realized she was pregnant. Even though the timing was quicker than they would have expected, the couple was grateful to have a bundle of joy on the way.
Bethani, who was 22 at the time, didn't yet know that she was in for an even bigger surprise. She recalls the day in December when they went in for an ultrasound:
"She turned the screen and she started counting babies and she counted baby one, baby two, baby three and baby four. I'm definitely glad I was laying down because I could not believe that there were four there. I thought there had to be some kind of mistake. (my husband) almost fainted. He had to sit down for a moment."

In spite of this being her first pregnancy, with quadruplets none the less, Bethani remembers having a great experience where the babies were growing and showing no signs of early labor. At 33-weeks along however, the big day came when Tim and Bethani drove to the hospital in Edmonton, ready to deliver and meet their babies!
We should point out that even though they knew about the quads, they didn't really know the sex of the babies; this would be the last surprise to round out this incredible experience! So imagine the moment when on May 6th, Bethani delivered four girls, who were identical quadruplets.
According to experts, chances of having quadruplets without fertility drugs is one in 729,000, but the chances of having identical quadruplets is 1 in 15 million! For the couple, this has been one of the most exciting and overwhelming experience of their life!

Abigale, Emily, Grace, and McKayla were born with good health as far as quads are concerned! Understandably, Tim and Bethani had trouble telling them apart at first:
"At this point, I'm not able to tell them apart. We're going to paint their toenails and assign them each a color ... It's a little overwhelming knowing that I'm taking care of four little babies. But it'll be good. Once they get home and I get into a routine, I'm sure it won't be too bad."
Here is a totally adorable video of the four girls chatting during belly-time!
For first time parents, Tim and Bethani certainly have their work cut out with four little girls, but they seem ready to embrace the challenge! A lot of help has also been pouring in, in the form of blanket, diapers, and other baby goods from strangers and friends alike.
Charity Rose Krahn, who is a close friend has also set up a Go Fund Me account to raise money for the parents knowing that from now on, the Webb household will be a single income family as Bethani stays home with the girls.
Looks like Tim and Bethani will have plenty of support to nurture their family of six. We wish them much success and hope that they have found a good system for telling the girls apart!
