After Years Of Dreaming, Chip Gaines Dream Is Coming True And Joanna Spills The Beans

The power couple of HGTV's Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna Gaines, seem to work so well together that it's hard to imagine anything they can't accomplish! Their creativity in home renovations has recently spilled over in expanding their own home goods shop, Magnolia Market, and a new bakery built in the now famous grain mill and silos in Waco, Texas.
Like Midas, everything they seem to touch turns into gold, and this has proved especially beneficial for the community they live in, which has gone through a resurgence due to the businesses and projects that the Gaines have established.
Well, the duo is at it again, and this time their surprise has less to do with shiplap and drywall, and more with delicious and homey grub.
Chip and Joanna who had purchased the Elite Café building last May, recently announced reopening the 100-year old institution as their own restaurant called Magnolia Table - and will serve a classic breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu. Joanna made the announcement on her own blog, At Home, and shared that opening a breakfast joint has been one of Chip's all time dreams.
Since so much of their aesthetic has to do with maintaining the history of the place, Chip and Joanna plan to renovate the restaurant in a style which would instantly give their guests a sense of walking into a place that has existed for over a 100 years. Joanna shared:
"We want the name of our restaurant to convey the idea that all are welcome here. Our hope is that when you step into this place, you know that everyone has a seat at our table."
And if you are wondering what exactly the menu will look like, Joanna provided a bit of insight into that as well. Most items will be inspired by their own family favorites including homemade pies and biscuits, jams and butters, family recipe burgers, eggs Benedict, and Chip's "famous" ham sandwich.
The renovation on the site has already started, but given that it's an old building, the couple has experienced a few set backs. But with their experience, it's nothing that they can't handle, and are expecting to open Magnolia Table later this year.
On diving into this whole new realm of culinary adventures, the couple does admit that they are nervous, but equally excited to see where it takes them. Joanna wrote on her blog that:
"People always say the restaurant business is a beast - and we believe that, we aren't naive to the fact that this is all new to us - but we are genuinely thrilled that we get the opportunity to restore a Waco treasure into something new ... I'm convinced that this place holds at least one memory for nearly everyone in Waco, Texas."
Chip and Joanna Gaines have struck again! And this time, instead of just a family, the fruits of their labor will be enjoyed by many residents and tourists of Waco, Texas.
Seeing how the couple is diversifying their business is not just a lesson in entrepreneurship, but also an inspiration to the rest of us to take a leap of faith to follow our dreams and accomplish new feats. We can't wait to see how Magnolia Table performs and hope that it catapults the Gaines to even more success.
