Boy Gives Bus Driver A Dare, Parents It Total Disbelief Of Her Act Without Them Knowing

School buses around the nation take thousands of kids to and from school every day, and those who drive them are entrusted to be the safest drivers around given the precious cargo they carry!
While most school bus drivers no doubt are good at their jobs, there are a few who go above and beyond in taking care of the kids they shuffle around daily.
Trudy Serres is a bus driver in Colorado for the Summit Elementary school. Parents and kids alike love Trudy for making the school bus ride fun and safe. But recently, there is another reason that the kids might consider her the best school bus driver in the world.
And it all started with a taco! This is how...
To pass the downtime while waiting for kids to board the bus, Trudy often brought along her favorite pastime which is crocheting. Kids would see her working on a project and would inevitably get curious to see how the final piece came out.
One of Trudy's passenger however, had to challenge Trudy before he could consider her a true crochet superstar. Trudy recalls:
"... one little boy asked for a taco. It all started with a taco. He said 'Do you think you can do a taco?' and I said 'I probably could.'"
We'll never know for sure whether this boy just loves eating tacos, or if he just wanted to dare Trudy with a really hard project, but Trudy decided to take him up on it and a few days later, presented the completed crochet taco to him.
Needless to say he was thrilled beyond belief!
"He showed every student on this bus what Miss Trudy had made and gave to him. So I can't do it just for one."
And this is how Trudy eventually started crocheting a very special toy for each of the 34 children that rode her bus. As if that wasn't insane enough, Trudy cut no corners and asked each child to pick their own toy along with colors and other details!
The requests included several Star War's Yodas with light sabers, Darth Vader, along with funny and unexpected things like a mustache on a stick, Pokeman characters, and Trolls!
Trudy obsessively started knitting around Easter, putting each toy on her dashboard as she finished it, making a great surprise for the children. She eventually finished all 34 toys just before school let out for summer!
Soon, parents started sharing how their kids had bonded with their special creations from Trudy:
"All loved them. Found out from parents that some take them to bed, some go to church with them. Some had to go on vacation with them. Makes my heart melt that these little items mean so much to these beautiful children."
For Trudy, nothing could have brought more joy than seeing these kids so impressed and happy with something she had created! One of the parents, John Londt, whose kids ride Trudy's bus, had this to say about Trudy's tremendous feat:
"She is really an amazing bus driver. I can't believe how much time and effort she put in for these children to make each one of them their own cushioned stuffed animal; it's pretty amazing!"
Most kids these days seem so engrossed with technology and gadgets, that it is hard to imagine just how much these elementary students loved and appreciated Trudy's handmade toys! We thank Trudy and her expert crocheting in helping the world prove that it is possible to win a child's heart and imagination without spending hundreds of dollars!
