If you're looking for the perfect fall dessert that's not only beautiful but tastes incredible, look no further than this Cinnamon Roll Apple Rose Tart. The best part about this recipe is that it only takes a handful of ingredients and 20 to 30 minutes of prep time.
It might look awfully difficult to prepare, but it's actually a cinch. Your dish will be the biggest hit at dinner!
The first thing to do is pick a medium-large sized red delicious apple. This type of apple manages to maintain its brilliant red color after baking and is sturdy enough to hold its shape after artistically creating the rose.
Once the apple is cored, it needs to be sliced to approximately one-eighth of an inch thickness. A combination of lemon juice, brown sugar and melted butter poured over the sliced apples will help prevent browning.This mixture also adds a delectable flavor. After that, pop the apple slices into the microwave for two minutes to help them become more pliable.
To make an apple rose, arrange eight apple slices in a straight line with only an inch of overlap on each. Then begin rolling the slices together starting at one end.
Layer more slices around the outside if you want to create a bigger rose. For this recipe, the bigger the rose, the more elegant the dessert looks.
Now unravel a few cinnamon rolls in a spiral pattern into a pie plate or cake plan, then insert the apple slices in-between the cinnamon rolls and pull the dough slightly to tighten it up. Once the cinnamon roll has been arranged in the pan, insert the rose in the middle.
