Owner Is Sure Her Cat Died In Wildfire, Watch The Emotional Moment She's Discovered In The Debris

When recent wildfires raged through Napa Valley's wine country in California, Laura Ringenberger, like many others, was forced to flee to safety. Before Laura left, she tried to find her outdoor cat, Kitty Kitty Star, but sadly she was nowhere to be found.
The poor woman knew that once she left the area, she would likely never see her kitty again. But, she had no choice - Laura made her escape without her furry best friend by her side. Unfortunately, Laura soon found out that her house was destroyed. Thankful that she and her family were still alive, she counted her blessings, but in the back of her mind, Laura agonized over the life of her cat.
From the very moment authorities let Laura return to her Napa neighborhood to retrieve personal items, she was on a mission to find her lost loved one. Nothing was going to get in her way, not even a live TV newscast! She lost her house to the fire and was sure her pet cat was gone too.
After she spotted ABC10 reporter John Bartell covering news of the disaster, Laura boldly flagged him down and told him what she needed him to do - they were going to look for her cat. The reporter drove Laura to her home, and with tears streaming down her eyes, she could see that the whole area had been razed.
It's heartbreaking to watch Laura pray not for the material possessions that were lost in the fire, but for something even more important - the life of a family member she was forced to leave behind. Sadly, the charred debris left little to the imagination, and only seemed to confirm what Laura already knew in her heart.
As Laura approached her property, the only thing left standing was a brick chimney. But, Laura was still hopeful, she immediately called out, "Here, kitty kitty." There was no response, but she still called out with desperation, "Kitty..." Laura had already prepared herself for the worst, but digging through the rubble of your own house has a way of bringing painful emotions back up to the surface.
Nature has been playing not-so-nice with our planet the past few months, but she still has a little bit of love left over for humanity. Just when we all think that mother nature only takes things from us, this video proves that she can give back, too. Like Humpty Dumpty after his fall, Laura's broken heart was about to be put back together again!
Laura was feeling lower than low, but then she heard a familiar "meow" coming from nearby. The emotional reunion that ABC10 captured is incredibly sweet, and you can see the entire thing unfold below.
This lucky cat's inner light is still shining bright, but it's the look in Laura's eyes that will light up your heart. What a powerful moment, I can't stop watching this.
