British-American singer Alex Boye has released an inspirational music video just in time for Christmas. He and the LDS Genesis Group Gospel Choir perform an Africanized rendition of the popular Christmas song "The Little Drummer Boy."
The video centers on a single mother with two daughters who are evicted from their home. Their adjustment to their new living quarters, an RV, is made easier through donations by the community.
At the end of the video, Alex encourages his fans to embrace the holiday spirit by doing something for somebody else. He says:
"You know, I heard a quote once that said, 'This Christmas, instead of asking what you will get, ask what you will give.' And you know, there's no better example of that than the person who gave his whole life, Jesus Christ."
He also invites people to find those who are in need this season:
"People who might not expect it. People who you might not think deserve it. It's such an awesome feeling. Let's go out and be awesome this Christmas."
Alex knows first hand how challenging it can be for those who don't have a close community of friends and family during the holidays, but the way he uses his music to spread joy is absolutely inspiring.
Full of passion and emotion, this version of "Little Drummer Boy" is unlike any you've ever heard. Listen as the powerful beating of the drums brings the song to life, and watch as a community comes together to show what truly matters this holiday season.
