Man Approaches Mom In Store, Then Makes Remark About Son's Face She'll Never Forget

All Tiffany Spradling wanted to do was stop by her local Walgreens to do some last-minute shopping for Christmas. But, her young daughter Madi was running barefoot around the store, with her shoes in her hands, and acting like a wild child. Her other kids were just as rambunctious, touching things they shouldn't, and Tiffany was as frustrated as any mom can be.
When a store employee approached the frazzled mom, she thought she was going to get told off for letting her children run around like they owned the place. But, instead of telling Tiffany to quiet down, the man headed straight towards her son, Gabe. The little boy has a very large scar on his face, and that's what caught the man's attention.
When Tiffany heard what the stranger said to her son, it took everything she had to keep herself from breaking down in the middle of the store. The interaction is one that will stay with her forever.
When the Walgreens employee, Devon, noticed the markings on the boy's face, he couldn't help himself. He got straight to the point and boldly asked Gabe where he got his scars from. Gabe told him that he had been burned by a diesel fuel tank.
Devon's intentions in pointing out the boy's scars weren't meant to be hurtful. It turns out that they both actually have something in common. When Devon was a year old, he was run over by a car, and he has visible scars covering the entire left side of his face.
Now that he's an adult and has already gone through all the potential bullying and name-calling that Gabe might go through, he wanted to let the kid know that everything would be okay. On her Facebook page, Tiffany said of Devon:
"He started by telling him what a handsome young man that he was. Not to ever get down or depressed because he looks different, but to look in the mirror everyday and be thankful that he is alive. That he is fearfully, wonderfully and beautifully made by God just how he is for a reason. No matter what anyone ever says or does, just keep his head up and everything would always be okay."
Devon said that he wished someone had told him all of these beautiful things when he was growing up. He wanted the boy to know that as a child of God, he has a purpose, and every goal and dream he has is still as attainable as ever.
Tiffany could barely keep her composure as she listened in on the conversation. She had been stressed-out, anxious, worried about money, work, family situations, buying gifts, and the list goes on and on. Even though the kind words were directed at her son, the stranger's compassion and caring were exactly what Tiffany herself needed to hear.
"I wish I could remember everything that he said, but i do know that this was something that will never, ever be forgotten. I told him thank you so much, and it was nice to meet him. Now as i am sitting here unwinding from last minute Christmas shopping and reflecting on my day, i wish i had told him what a BLESSING it was to meet him."
Tiffany admitted that she was overwhelmed and bitter about the holidays, but that Devon's actions reminded her what Christmas is all about.
"I can't even find the words to say all the things i wish i could about how much this man blessed me tonight. I will most definitely be making a trip back to the store one day to let him know just how much those 3-4 minutes blessed my heart for the rest of my life. I am so thankful for a person like this to teach my son such an important lesson just because."
Tiffany kept her word, and on a return visit to the store, Gabe and Devon were reunited for another sweet holiday snap. As for Tiffany herself, she firmly believes that there are angels among us - you can probably already guess what his name is.
