Carrie Underwood is an adored singer, songwriter, and actress. The world first fell in love with this beauty back in 2005 during her performances on America's Got Talent. Carrie was voted the show's season finale winner, and took her well-deserved place in the celebrity spotlight.
Back in November of this past year, Carrie was injured after falling outside of her home in Nashville. We knew at the time that the singer suffered a broken wrist as a result of the fall - however, we are now learning that the accident was much more serious than anyone could have imagined.
Carrie Underwood, wife and mother, was more seriously hurt than she initially shared with the public. Now, almost two months after her accident last November, Carrie is ready to open up with more details about the injuries she sustained.
Although the singer's wounds originally seemed rather minimal - Carrie is now revealing that she actually experienced severe trauma to her face during the time of her fall.
Carrie wrote in a message to the members of her fan club, which was then obtained by People magazine,
"There is also another part of the story that I haven't been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up."
The singer went on to say,
"It's crazy how a freak random accident can change your life."
Carrie explained to her fans,
"In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike (Carrie's husband) that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in."
A fall which was portrayed as minor at first, wasn't minimal in any way - it was life-changing for this beloved superstar. Although Carrie is indeed recovering from her "freak" accident - understandably so, she hasn't yet been ready to face the media.
"I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way. And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different."
Carrie may be uncertain about the amount of permanent damage caused by her fall, but one thing is for sure - all who love her will continue to cherish and support her for the beautiful person she is, inside and out.
Keeping in close touch with her loyal fans, Carrie posted the following picture to her Instagram account just days before the New Year.
