Dad loves his baby girl. They spend every second they have together playing, exploring and bonding on an emotional level! So when it comes time for Dad to leave for work, this one-year-old does her best to keep him at home.
Instead of pushing her to the side and heading out, Dad takes the time to make sure his little one feels loved! Thankfully, Dad thought to record this sweet moment between the two of them - by the looks of things, they have a bond that can't be broken...
The moment Dad heads towards the door, Baby steps in front of him. If he wants to leave for work, he'll have to go through her first! Mom and Dad chuckle for a second and watch as Baby does her best to keep Dad in the house.
She blocks the door, cuddles in between his legs and even starts to cry!
Dad leaves every single day, and she's tired of it! Even though Dad eventually had to go, he did his best to make sure Baby felt loved and understood.
According to a report published in the Huffington Post from a recent study by the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, a father's bond is vitally important for a child's overall health and wellbeing.
The study concluded:
"When fathers delay bonding with their newborns, they risk altering the long-term course of paternal involvement as the infant progresses throughout childhood and adolescence. In addition, fathers 'reported that they didn't start to experience fatherhood until birth' while mothers reported that they started to experience motherhood as soon they received news that they were pregnant.
This difference has an effect on the amount of time it takes for a mother and a father to feel a loving connection and bond with their newborn. Most fathers enter parenthood expecting an immediate emotional bond with their newborns, but many [fathers] report that forming that bond takes time."
Thankfully, this father knows how crucial it is to bond with his little one and takes the time to give her snuggles before work. Even though he has to leave, Dad wants his daughter to know that she's his top priority!
