The history-making wedding between the beloved Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was fascinating to say the least. People could not stop gushing over how different it was from other royal weddings.
From her stunningly simple, classic gown and minimal makeup to reciting their own modern vows, the couple definitely put a personal spin on the ceremony. The gospel choir, the minister from Chicago -- everything was a pleasant surprise to fans of the royals.
In a tribute to her new home, Meghan's veil had flowers embroidered on it that represented each commonwealth country. For something borrowed, her tiara was lent to her from the queen herself.
A significant number of celebrities attended along with important diplomatic figures, such as Oprah Winfrey and George and Amal Clooney. It was quite the event!
What's even more shocking is what the couple did with their incredibly gorgeous floral arrangements after the wedding was over. As a reflection of their philanthropic nature and generous hearts always seeking to give back, Harry and Meghan made a gesture that stunned everyone.
As is tradition, Meghan's personal bridal bouquet was placed on the grave of the Unknown Warrior at Westminster Abby. But the beautiful fresh flowers from the ceremony worth thousands in the chapel were donated to St. Joseph's Hospice in London.
Those very flowers brightened so many people's day. Patients and families whose time spent in hospice care are often filled with sadness and grief instead were treated to such a wonderful gift from an event observed from around the world.

Florist Philippa Craddock, along with the couple, were thrilled to share the floral arrangements with such deserving individuals. Hospice officials noted that "Our hospice smells and looks gorgeous. Such a lovely gesture." Not only did they make the facility smell good but a spokesperson from the hospital also said, "To see the faces of the patients when they received the flowers was just fantastic, I'll never forget that moment."
We agree! What an incredible thing for the couple to do. Congrats to the newlyweds!
