Mom Of Special Needs Child Has Had Enough So Snaps Photo That Goes Viral On Social Media

Life as a parent of a child with special needs is a rollercoaster. Some days are packed with moments that feel like a dream - and others are a nightmare filled with heartache and frustration. Days really are a dice roll, but most parents admit they wouldn't change things for the world!
Sadly, there's one thing Shanna Logue Mondy would change.
It all has to do with her precious 9-year-old son Cauy and something they're forced to endure on an almost daily basis. The problem is with Cauy's condition direction - instead, it has to do with people disrespecting the handicap parking rules...
When Shanna pulled into a handicap parking space recently, she immediately noticed a problem she and Cauu encounter several times a week. At that moment, something snapped.
She needed to stop this madness once and for all!
The photo she captured seconds later highlighted a major handicap parking problem people with disabilities are forced to deal with all of the time! In the days after sharing her photo (seen below), it went totally viral. People had no idea about this issue, or they had experienced it themselves and wanted to voice their own frustrations.
Sensing how important this problem was, Shanna submitted her image to the Love What Matters page. She wrote:
"I thought I would share a picture of Cauy after his doctor's appointment. Even people with handicap plates don't understand how important it is to not park on the blue/yellow lines.
My husband Rob and I started our journey with our special needs son 9 years ago when our twins (Cauy and Skylee) were born at 24 weeks. Our son Cauy, who is pictured in the wheelchair, was born with a brain bleed which led to the diagnosis of Cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
At the time of their birth and diagnosis, we had no clue the struggles and blessings we would encounter raising a child with special needs. Rob and I made the decision that no matter what we would use Cauy's story as a blessing to others..."

"We started a Facebook page ‘Cauy's Crew' to highlight Cauy and his victories, struggles, and to raise awareness. We have had many opportunities to educate, mentor, and serve others because of our willingness to be open about the struggles we encounter.
We try our best to have a positive outlook and try to educate everyone instead of putting down or shaming people just because they just do not know.
The parking issue that has been spread across the Internet is just one of many struggles we face on a weekly basis. We run into the issue of someone parking in the blue lines or placing their shopping cart on the lines and blocking our ramp about 1-2 times per week.
I took this picture to share with my grandma who recently shared a story with me about a woman being unable to get into her van due to the ramp access being blocked.
After talking with many friends and family we noticed that many people just do not know what those lines are for. My intention with sharing this photo is to only raise awareness among the public and friends who might not know how important it is to watch the lines when parking next to a handicap spot."
Hopefully, Shanna's message spreads far and wide. The only tools against an issue like this are social outreach and explanation. Without communication, there is no hope of people learning about their mistakes and working to never make them again!
Being the parent of a special needs child is one of the most rewarding, yet most challenging, jobs in the world. If we could make their lives (and the lives of those living with disabilities) that much easier, we should!
