Woman's Stunned When Cop Waits For Her In Parking Lot

Safety experts always advise people to never go anywhere alone, especially at night. Those who are most vulnerable -- women, the elderly and children -- definitely should heed this advice, they say.
As Terri Mae was wrapping up working an incredibly rewarding shift at Erin's House for Grieving Children, it dawned on her that it was really dark out. And she was alone...
Terri usually walked out to the parking lot and to her vehicle with her friend Benjamin. But he wasn't there that evening.
She gathered up her belongings and set the alarm to the facility, feeling a bit apprehensive. She took a deep breath, steadied herself, then shut the door behind her and walked outside, only to be instantly surprised by what she saw in the parking lot.
A Fort Wayne, Indiana, police cruiser was parked in the lot with an officer inside. Terri instantly felt relieved at the sight!
Instead of making her way to her vehicle, Terri approached the officer sitting alone in his car. She was quite grateful he was there - and amazed at what he had to say.
"I walked over to thank him and he told me that he specifically came back because he saw that there was only one car left in the parking lot and he wanted to make sure the driver (me) got to the car safely!"
Terri could breathe easier knowing that one of Fort Wayne's finest was there, waiting on her to make it safely to her car. When she learned that Officer Hunter also serves as a mentor to local youth, she had to give him a shout out on social media and thank him.
"How lucky are we to have such an amazing man keeping us safe? Thank you Officer Hunter! You blessed my night tonight!"
No longer vulnerable in the dark parking lot, Terri strode comfortably to her vehicle knowing that Officer Hunter was keeping a watchful eye on her. Thank goodness for Officer Hunter and all of the other wonderful officers out there serving and protecting us at all times!
