Lonely 12-Year-Old Dog Gets New Puppy For Christmas
Kristin Danley 10/8/2018
The cutest pair of Golden Retrievers named Rosie and Cash were inseparable. They grew up together at Jay and Marie Ahonen's home, siblings that ate together, napped together and lounged together.
But when Cash and Rosie were just eight years old, Rosie passed away unexpectedly. Cash was devastated.
Suddenly, his longtime companion, best friend and sister was nowhere to be found. Her scent lingered around the house, but she was gone forever.
Dogs experience grief just like humans and Cash became depressed. Jay and Marie did everything they could to cheer him up.
After some time had passed, Jay and Marie decided it was time. Cash needed something to perk up their aging puppy, something more than anything they could do for him.
Just in time for Christmas, Jay and Marie surprised Cash with his very own amazing present. Now 12, Cash stood at the door with his tail wagging, waiting for Jay who is on the other side.
Jay entered the room cradling a festively wrapped box that contained something the whole family could love and dote upon. But Marie said it was more for their buddy Cash.
Cash started getting very excited about the smell coming from inside the box. When the box popped open revealing his new buddy Jennings, Cash couldn't believe it!
The sad-faced Cash instantly morphed into an energetic and spry guy, thrilled to have someone to play with once again. In fact, it looks as if Cash is going to pounce on Jennings, he's so happy.
Watch how these two cuties get along upon their first meeting in the video below. It's adorable!
