A person can never know what moments will become a memory a child decides to keep stored in their memory bank. Children may be young, but they are very impressionable and what adults may think of as ordinary moments may trigger an entirely different response from a child seeing something amazing for the very first time.
When mom decided to visit Buckingham Palace with her son for his birthday they were eager and excited to see the Queens guardsman. Little Marshall Scott was turning 4-years-old and to celebrate mom got him a special outfit for their visit to Windsor Castle.
Donning a miniature guardsman outfit Marshall and mom, Imogen Scott, walked around the castle grounds when they spotted a group of guardsman heading in their direction.
Mom says Marshall is very patriotic. He also thinks the Queen is lovely and beautiful. So when he caught sight of his fellow guardsman walking close by the little guy knew just what to do.
The young boy lifted his right arm and saluted each of the guardsman as they trotted along and entered the castle. Guardsman are not allowed to talk or interact with other people while on duty so the guardsman never turned to look at the little guy and remained stone faced as they stepped into the castle.
But there was one guardsman who unexpectedly wheeled around and headed straight towards Marshall and his mom. Catching onlookers by surprise, other tourists gasped as they watched the scene unfold before their eyes.
The guardsman saluted the young boy before pointing in his direction, prompting the little boy to cautiously approach the guard. The guard then points to his side and the little boy stands next to him as mom whips out her camera to take a photo of the pair.
After the events mom turned to Facebook to express her thank you's for making her son's birthday so special. Turns out it wasn't just the guardsman who made it the best day ever.
"Want to say thank you to all the people that stopped to have photos with him & wished him a happy birthday, to the family that bought him a soldier teddy, to the group of girls that got everyone to sing happy birthday to him & to the soldier who, after his march, stopped all the other soldiers to come back to Marshall to have photos with him (didn't get a picture as my phone reset it self) Apparently it has been 'THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER'"
Since the video was posted people can't get enough of the little cutie and his precious reaction. The video has been shared multiple times and the guardsman even got ahold of mom to offer her and Marshall a tour of Windsor Castle.
Mom couldn't be anymore thrilled for her son and as for Marshall he certainly did have "the best birthday ever".
