Getting married is one of those magical moments that brides remember for the rest of their life. But for a special bride in New York, it was a total stranger that somehow made her day even more special and memorable.
Olivia Spark had literally just gotten married to the love of her life, and the couple had slipped away before the reception to take a few wedding pictures in New York's Akron Fall's Park. The newly minted couple was busy with their wedding photographer Nicole Wickins, when a young girl photo bombed their pictures.
5-year-old Layla Lester who was also at this public park with her mother Jessica, saw Olivia in her white dress and ran up to her believing that she was the real Disney Princess Cinderella. Layla who is autistic is usually not so forthcoming and excited to meet with strangers. Jessica later told her local CBS news station WIVB that:
"She just goes running over, arms wide open, [yelling] "Cinderella, Cinderella! ... When she sees a princess, she's going to love them because she loves princesses."
Olivia was definitely caught off guard by Layla's reaction and didn't know exactly how to react.
While another bride might have gotten upset about loosing precious time with her photographer, Olivia instead was gracious enough to talk to Layla and acknowledge her excitement. Olivia later described the moment as:
"I was flattered. I was like in tears that she thought I was a princess, and it just made my day absolutely more amazing than what it already was."
After a few moments though, Olivia declared that it was time for her to leave for the ball; a real reception awaited her and her new groom after all. Layla, surprisingly, wasn't upset at all, and instead bid them farewell and wished them a lot of fun at the ball.
Through it all, Nicole, the wedding photographer had never stopped taking pictures of this very special moment. Days later when Olivia saw them, she decided to track down Jessica and Layla, and give them a copy of the photos as remembrance. They decided to meet at the same park.
And while Olivia didn't wear the gown, she did bring a real pumpkin carriage as a surprise!
