Grandmas Christmas Ornaments Definitely Weren't What She Thought

Staying up with the times is hard work. One second, you've proudly mastered your cellphone. The next, they're releasing a newer, more advanced version. The same merry-go-round goes for all types of cultural phenomena - the older we get, the harder it is to understand the world around us!
That's exactly what happened to one grandmother who bought what she thought were gorgeous purple Christmas ornaments. She had no idea the truth about what was stuffed inside...
Grandma spotted the ornaments while in a Dunnes shopping store. She was immediately attracted to the sparkly glitter and the bright purple color. We can only assume she thought:
"These will be the perfect addition to my Christmas tree!"
But when it came time to hang the ornaments, Grandma was just too tired. She enlisted the help of her granddaughter, Alex, who came rushing to decorate the tree.
Alex carefully unboxed the tree and set it up with Grandma beaming from the other room. It felt so nice to have her granddaughter nearby during the holidays. After the tree was assembled, Alex turned her attention to the fun part: decorating!
She moved through the boxes of tassels, garland and string lights until she reached the ornaments.
Alex placed them on the tree one-by-one, smiling as she hung the shiny glass bulbs. But when she reached into the box and pulled out a purple glittering plastic blub, something in her mind clicked. There weren't any ordinary ornaments.
Alex wiggled the plastic bulb in her palm until it popped open. She cautiously used her index finger and thumb to remove the piece of material inside of the sphere. Sure enough, the item was her worst nightmare (and the most hilarious thing in the world).
After tamping down her uproarious laughter, Alex took to Twitter to share what she found. The giggling young lady wrote:
"My 74-year-old grandmother bought Christmas baubles in Dunnes Stores, which I have just realized upon decorating her tree that, unbeknownst to her upon purchase, they are, in fact, lavender glitter G-strings."
Grandma had no idea her purchase was actually something quite risque. She just loved the color of the ornament and the glitter - not the underwear hidden inside. Even she got a chuckle out of Alex's discovery when she broke the news.
Everyone mixes things up every now and then.
We don't blame you, Grandma! The world can be a strange place!
