Dueling Violinists Square Off With Invigorating Celtic Song

Award winning violinists Mairead Nesbitt and Cora Smith are fantastic musicians in their own right. But when they came together and squared off on stage at Hyde Park in London, the result was spectacular.
Mairead's eclectic music combines traditional Irish music and classical music. She's been nominated for an Emmy and a Grammy as both an artist and a composer, and has received a slew of other awards.
Cora's style is equally impressive and eventually led her to win a Eurovision song contest. She also performed as one of the elite original violinists in Michael Flatley's "Lord of the Dance."
The packed crowd at the breezy outdoor venue waited in anticipation to see just what the two women clutching electric violins are doing as they emerge on stage. They stood on separate halves, Mairead dressed in a shimmering blue jumpsuit, her shoulder-length blonde hair whipping about as she begins to play.
The crowd went wild over what they heard. Not only were the violinists amazing to listen to, they were fun to watch.
No doubt this was a really difficult routine that took hours of practice and rehearsal. With the super fast set of jig and step dances along with the precision playing on the violin, this performance is certainly a show stopper.,
