Everyone takes things for granted. It can be basic needs like electricity and access to transportation or something more vital such as good health. This is why we should be grateful for all the blessings we have, especially when there are people who would love to walk a day in our shoes.
The story you are about to read is a sweet reminder to be grateful. It's about a boy named Levi and his one of a kind encounter with Santa. This precious little boy had only one wish for Christmas: to get a new kidney. So he turned to the one person he knew would help, Santa Claus himself.

You probably remembered what it was like to see Santa Claus as a kid. Whether you caught good 'ol Saint Nick on the mall or at the fair, an encounter with him only meant that your Christmas wish would come true. Did you ask for a brand new game? Or maybe you wanted that new doll? Whatever it was, Santa was ready to grant it for you.
But little Levi's request was nowhere as materialistic. All he wanted was a new kidney for Christmas. When he went to see Santa at Bass Pro in Olathe, Levi made sure to ask if he could help him. Unfortunately, Santa couldn't grant his wish then and there, so he offered a heartfelt prayer instead.
The heartwarming moment was shared by a mom named Julie Kay Ryff on Facebook:
"We had a very unique and wonderful experience tonight when we went to see Santa at Bass Pro in Olathe. After the kids took their picture, they got off Santa`s lap and he asked each of the kids what they wanted for Christmas.
When he got to Levi, I said, he doesn`t talk much, but he`s on the kidney transplant list, so he would like a new kidney for Christmas.
Santa had a very surprised look on his face and immediately reached for Levi and put him back on his lap. Santa then put one arm around Levi and his other hand on his belly and started to pray for Levi."

Julie continued her Facebook post, saying:
"It was the most heartfelt, sincere prayer.
He hugged Levi and set him down. He looked me in the eye and squeezed my hand.
I walked away crying. It never ceases to amaze me how God puts people in your path to bless and encourage you when you need it most, and usually it comes in the most unexpected places and ways. I`m thankful for this sweet man tonight.
Thanks, Santa at Bass Pro Shops"
It's moments like this that remind us of the true meaning of Christmas. We do hope that little Levi gets that kidney one day!
