Man Sings Queen Classic In Video With Special Twist

Here we go again with yet another Queen cover. You know how the story goes - a young, aspiring musician picks a popular song, films a video of themselves singing it on YouTube, and then expects everyone in the world to laud them just because it's, well, Queen! Unfortunately that recipe for fame doesn't work anymore, and a person has to really stand out from the crowd in order to shine.
Although Marc Martel doesn't aspire to be Freddie Mercury, his clever twist on a classic Queen hit proves that he's certainly anything but ordinary. That's because Marc doesn't just sound like Freddie, but in his side-by-side "duet" he seems to be a haunting dupe of one of the most famous four-octave vocalists to every live on the planet. Even fans of Freddie can hardly tell the difference between these two!
Freddie Mercury was a lot of different things in his lifetime: an amazing singer-songwriter, a record producer, and of course, the lead vocalist for the British rock band Queen. One thing he's never been accused of is being an Elvis Presley impersonator, but that didn't stop him from composing the very Elvis-like ditty, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."
Marc Martel, on the other hand, has often been compared to Freddie Mercury. The Canadian singer helped his fellow Dowhere band members win multiple Juno awards before he opted for the solo career path. It was around that time that Marc decided to enter the Queen Extravaganza tribute project, which was started by Roger Taylor, the original drummer for Queen. His mind-blowing performance meant that Marc's future would forever be entwined with that of his idol.
After a video of Marc singing "Somebody to Love" earned more than 16 million views, it caught the attention of Ellen Degeneres, who invited him to appear on her show. It's not that what he sang was a really good cover - it's how he sang it. Marc sounds uncannily like the music legend himself!
This time instead of just belting out a Queen classic, Marc decided to go head to head with Freddie himself. When the video starts, half the screen shows the contemporary singer belting out the lyrics to "Crazy Little Thing Called Love." Just seconds later, the other half of the screen is filled with Freddie's original music video of the same tune, and like two peas in the pod, the two men seem like they're one and the same.
Keep your ears peeled as Marc and Freddie sing their "duet" in the video. Their voices are so similar, it's as if you're listening to a right and left stereo recording of Queen's beloved lead vocalist.
In fact, Marc's eerily familiar voice is so much like Freddie's, that he actually contributed his vocals in the band's recent biographical hit film, Bohemian Rhapsody. Have a listen, and you'll see that this is a very crazy thing, indeed!
This "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" is a lot crazier than it seems!
