Christina Ramos Puts RockOpera Back Into Queen Chart Topper

It seems like there's no end to the number of hopeful singers out there who choose to take on Queen's ubiquitous classic "Bohemian Rhapsody." Anytime someone tells Simon Cowell that they're going to cover that song, he'd roll his eyes in his usual impatiently bored, "I'm so over this," expression. But, that was before he met Christina Ramos's stunning spin on the rock-opera hit!
The shy singer wowed audiences on Spain's Got Talent, but she has to start over from scratch as just your average everyday winner when she stepped onto the "America's Got Talent: The Champions" stage. Her first performance needed to make quite an impression, so when she picked a tune that pretty much everyone has already sung, including us not-so-talented couch singers at home, it seemed like it could be a really bad move on her part.
The gorgeous songstress, who was seen wearing an slightly outlandish feather-trimmed robe, was proud to introduce herself to the judges as one of "Spain's Got Talent" winner. It was quite obvious from Simon's silly, boyish grin that he was quite smitten with Christina's good looks from get-go, but his puppy-dog eyes went from adoration to admiration when the singer put "opera" back into Queen's rock-opera hit!
Pop, country, and rock singers far outnumber those who have been especially blessed with an operatic voice, so it was a total treat for both the audience and the judges to hear Bohemian Rhapsody from a whole new, higher octave angle. But, just when everyone thinks they're listening to an opera, the beat changes and Christina unleashes her inner rock goddess!
Queen's recent biopic film and accompanying soundtrack has reinvigorated old fans and gained new ones, which helped propel their music to the highest chart position in over 38 years. The Spanish star piggybacked on their ever-increasing popularity by weaving her own rock opera flourishes into Queen's signature tune.
Instead of trying to imitate Freddie Mercury, which, let's face it not many people an do, Christina showed everyone that her angelic vocals are quite spectacular all on their own. Although American audiences may not be familiar with her, there's a reason why she won won Spain's Got Talent.
When Christina chatted with the judges before her performance, she mentioned that this was her very first trip to America. But, it probably won't be her last. Her very first effort had both the crowd and judges on their feet and roaring for more. Afterward, a very stunned Simon lamented:
"It was spectacular, your voice is off the charts. This was unbelievable. I mean, really, really unbelievable."
If Freddie Mercury were still here, he probably would have been honored that someone quite literally took his rock-opera to heart.
Christina stuns everyone when she takes "Bohemian Rhapsody" for a wild, rock-opera spin!
