One of the most incredible songs ever recorded is "The Prayer" by the amazing Andrea Bocelli. An Italian singer, songwriter and record producer, Bocelli's voice has been described as the most beautiful in the world.
He's sold more than 90 million records worldwide, all while living life to the fullest as a blind artist since the age of 12. Jane Constance also was born blind, but possessed such musical talent that her family just had to help it flourish, which landed her with a spot on The Voice Kids France.
After immersing herself in piano and voice lessons, Jane's family encouraged her to compete. When she appeared on The Voice Kids France, Jane selected Bocelli's beautiful song "The Prayer" for her blind audition piece.
When Jane begins to sing, you can visibly see her losing herself in the music. Dressed in a sparkling top with a white headband holding back her hair, Jane seems a bit nervous at first, but quickly shakes it off.
The 14-year-old performs the soothing and soulful song and not too far into the audition, two of the judges smack their buzzer and spin around. It is when she effortlessly hits a high lilting note that they know they have to see her for themselves.
"I pray you'll be our eyes and watch us where we go and help us to be wise in times when we don't know. Let this be our prayer as we go our way. Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace to a place where we'll be safe."
For the second verse, she switches to Italian as did Bocelli. The judges stare intently as they listen to her sing, a string of pearls wrapped around her slender neck.
The orthodontic braces she has on indicate her youthfulness, but her voice is that of a much more mature artist. She sounds simply astounding.
Her pitch is near perfect and as the judges watch her, it almost seems as if they have a tear welling up in their eyes. The Italian lyrics blended with English are simply soulful to hear.
"La luce che to dai . I pray we'll find your light. Nel cuore restero. And hold it in our hearts. A ricordarchi che. When stars go out each night. L'eterna stella sei. Nella mia preghiera. Let this be our prayer. Quanta fede see'e. When shadows fill our day. Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace, give us faith so we'll be safe. Sognamo un mondo senza piu violenza."
As Jane wraps up her performance, Jenifer -- the last judge to respond - hits her buzzer and spins around just in time. The crowd rewards Jane with a standing ovation, as do the judges.
