Television shows that are centered on finding standout talents and encouraging aspiring artists to pursue their dreams are popular in most countries. Some of what these shows have in common are influential personalities in the music industry serving as judges, unique twists to the selection process and of course, a slew of individuals with unwavering determination and a thirst for exposure and opportunity. In this particular show, the judges, the audience, and the rest of the world watching from their homes were treated to quite a rendition of the song "Say Something" by Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World.
The song was released in 2014 and became an instant hit, especially after it was re-recorded to feature Christina Aguilera, one of pop music's most popular. It was met with such a positive response that it didn't take long before other artists released recordings of the same song. The track, composed of heartbreaking lyrics, starts off soft and mellow and gradually progresses to soulful. Popova Ksyusha from Russia, delivered her own unique version of the song on the X Factor and made it even more unforgettable.
It was always Popova's dream to become famous, with Christina Aguilera being the artist she looked up to most. In fact, she admired the artist so deeply that she even dyed her hair blonde. In true Christina Aguilera fashion, Popova walked onstage dressed to impress. Her ensemble and her chosen makeup look would definitely gain the approval of her idol. After the usual introductions were made, it was time to give her rendition of the hit pop song. Popova started off soft, slow, and whispery, prompting various reactions from the judges and the audience - some looking dubious and some already looking impressed.
Her soothing voice and how she sung so effortlessly resulted in a hauntingly beautiful version of the powerful ballad. What made it even more impressive was the calm and poised demeanor of the striking young blonde. She looked like she definitely belonged on that stage - like she was meant to follow the footsteps of her chosen music icon.
It wasn't just the appeal of her eye-catching appearance that caused an impact on the judges, the audience, and the viewers. She showed up not just dressed to impress, but armed with talent and undeniable star quality - a combination that made her stand out from the other hopefuls.
