After Painful Divorce Reba McEntire Finds Happily Ever After

Reba McEntire's latest album "Stronger Than the Truth" is filled with songs of heartache and heartbreak, but fans shouldn't read too much into it. Although the country crooner went through a traumatic divorce in 2015, which she totally objected to, the "done me wrong" lyrics aren't a reflection of what's going on in her real life.
As it stands right now, the 64-year-old is very much over her ex-husband, and she told PEOPLE that if she was still hurting, "I couldn't be singing those songs." Not only has she overcome the pain of her 4-year-old breakup, but she's also found her happily ever after (the divorce). Which was actually quite a surprise to her, because it came at a time when she wasn't even looking for it!
After 26 years of marriage, Reba wasn't remotely interested in falling in love again. In fact, it was the last thing on her mind! But of course, the moment she stopped looking for the perfect romantic partner, he came and found her anyways.
It happened back in 2017 when she was on a vacation tour with some friend in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. That's where Reba first met a handsome 70-year-old widower named Skeeter Lasuzzo. The accomplished wildlife photographer went out of his way to show Reba's group all the prime animal sightings in the area, and although he was attentive to everyone on the tour, he paid extra special attention to the gorgeous redhead.
The budding romance began when Skeeter put aside his animal side and showed Reba his gentlemanly ways! She told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview how a group dinner turned into something more meaningful:
"We just had the best time. And so two nights later, we all went out to dinner, and he bought my dinner."
After returning to Jackson Hole a couple of months later, Skeeter asked Reba out on a real date. The country queen was there for nearly a week, and the pair made the most of their time by spending every single day together!
The sparks definitely were flying, but Reba was still very cautious and she just wanted to get to know Skeeter as a friend at first. Their relationship gradually blossomed into something more serious, and after 2 years together, there's no doubt about how they feel for each other now.
"We're totally in love - absolutely. I wouldn't put up with somebody for two years if I wasn't in love with 'em!"
For all of the heartache she endured, Reba certainly deserves every bit of love that she's now feeling! And she even has a sense of humor about it and jokingly said, "The old heart's still beating."
