Marianne from Minnesota bought the Makeover Guy's book eight years ago but at that time, she felt that she was still happy with the way she looked and that she didn't feel that she needed a makeover then. The decision to go for a makeover somehow stemmed from two years ago, when she couldn't seem to decide on what kind of haircut and hair color suited her and so she just finally decided to let her hair go gray.
"When you're sixteen or eighteen years old you get to try a whole bunch of cool stuff and find your own way. But there isn't as much help out there to figure out what you should do when you're getting older."
As people age, their bodies go through a lot of changes and they begin to notice graying hair, wrinkles, sagging skin, and weight gain. Some people are able to accept these changes and stay happy, some begin to be dissatisfied with their appearance while others simply stop caring about how they look. At 56, Marianne was feeling a lot of joy. She was happy with the fact that she had raised her children, she had a career, and she was in a good marriage.
She simply wanted to look good on the outside because she wanted her look to reflect how she felt inside. She made the decision to see the Makeover Guy, Christopher Hopkins and see what he could do her. Marianne had said that when she was five years old, her uncle who was a makeup artist chopped her ponytail off. The result was a pixie hairstyle which she felt was her signature hairstyle.
The new Marianne is shown on the video wearing a pixie which brought out her eyes, and hair color that took years off her face. She is shown looking very different from the way she looked on the first part of the video and obviously satisfied and happy with the results.
"When I got here I was feeling 56 going on 75 plus and now I feel like 56 going on 30 and it's fabulous."
Most people come to accept how they look as they get older, and they don't seem to let what others think of their looks bother them. Marianne knew she could look good because according to her, her mother "really looks good," plus, she had faith in the Makeover Guy. "I want to be a glam gram 'cause I'm a new grandma. and I really feel like a glam gram."
