Most, if not all, parents work hard to provide their children with good education, a loving home, and at least three square meals a day. The children, in return, do their best to help their hardworking parents.
However, one teenage boy went above and beyond what kids his age normally do to help their parents. He did some jobs and sold some things to get his mother an unbelievable gift—an actual car.
Krystal Preston lives in Frenley, Nevada with her three kids and three dogs. She’s a single mother who works hard to provide her kids with everything they need. Although life is hard, Krystal is thankful that she has kids who love her and help her. Her eldest son, William, helps around the house as much as he can.
But recently, her son became busier than usual. He sold his Xbox and he mowed the lawn and did some yard work to earn money, but Krystal thought he just wanted some spending money. She didn’t know her 13-year-old son had actually been saving up for something big—for her.
One day, when Krystal got home, her son said that he had bought her a car. Krystal immediately waved it off as a joke. But William insisted that it was true, and he told her that there was a lady waiting outside to take them to the car.
Krystal was skeptical, but when she went outside, there really was a woman waiting for them! The confused mother and her son, William, got into the woman’s car. They drove to the woman’s house where the car was waiting for them.
It was then that Krystal realized William had been telling the truth! Krystal wept. She couldn’t believe that her son—her teenage son—had gone to such great lengths to give her a car. After some paperwork, Krystal was the proud owner of a 1999 white Chevrolet Metro.
"The fact that my kid did this, I'm proud but as a mom I'm supposed to be able to take care of my kids, I'm supposed to do this, not the other way around."
She posted her amazing experience on her Facebook and it went viral. Her story was eventually picked up by a local radio station. William revealed that he saw a YouTube video where someone surprised their mother with a car and William wanted to do the same thing. He didn’t want it for the fame, though. He knew a car would greatly help their family and make work easier for his mother.
Kids have their days, but, like their parents, they will work hard to provide love and support.
