13 members of the Fusion Fighters, an Irish progressive performance company, performed and entertained the crowd with a tap dance performance of David Guetta's "This One's For You" featuring Zara Larsson. A thick crowd of people gathered around the Fusion Fighters dancers and were in awe at their talent. Some of the people watching even tried to follow along but were challenged to keep up because the dancers were so fast and precise.
The Fusion Fighters is a progressive performance dance company, which launched last March 17, 2013 at the Mayor of London Festival in Trafalgar Square, London, England. Their goal is to create an evolving Irish dance experience that entertains the crowd while still preserving Irish traditions. And because their philosophy is all about "Creativity and Inclusion, the dance company includes members of all ages and levels.
In just six years, the Fusion Fighters have grown to be one of the largest and most influential dance communities in the world. They've already amassed more than 100,000 followers and their videos have been viewed more than 200 million times. This has allowed them to use their platform to spread awareness about the social issues they care about. Their recent 2017 campaign was named "Create Not Hate", which aims to bring communities together, especially in remote areas, towards a positive change through dance. They've been going around the world since 2017 to promote the campaign.
Made up of more than 50 professional dancers, more than 20 musicians, and hundreds of students, they have performed for corporate events, festivals, and advocacy campaigns. The dancers receive extensive training in Irish dance but they are also trained in Tap, Ballet, and Contemporary Dance.
Plus, they also reach out to dancers who want to perform with them or individuals who want to learn to dance. They teach "Specialist Performance Workshops" and host the "Fusion Dance Fest" annually. They've also appeared on The Late Late Show, Nolan Live, Fleadh TV, Bloc TV4, The North American Nationals, and the CLRG Irish Dance World Championships.
Fusion Dance Fest happens every August and you can apply to be part of it, especially if you want to learn to dance. They have an eight-day dance camp featuring different dance workshops for all ages and levels taught by the best choreographers, show stars, and members of the Fusion Fighters.
The Fleadh Cheoil, which means festival of music, is an Irish music competition. There are solo competitions and group competitions aimed at celebrating their traditional music. And by the looks of things, it's also a whole lot of fun.
Watch below and maybe even try to join along with their fun routine.
