Little Girl Has No Idea She Can Hula Hoop Until Dad Steps In

Aubrey Turnipseed may only be 2 years old, but this talented lil' tyke already knows how to dance like a disco queen and DJ like she rules the rave scene! However, there's one thing this adorable sweetie has yet to spin around, and it's a physical feat that even some adults have yet to master - the ever elusive hula hoop.
It started out as a normal normal Sunday outing at the zoo in Tampa, Florida, but it soon turned into a fit of giggles and shenanigans the moment Aubrey spotted the hula hoops lying on the ground. A video showing the tiny girl wiggling around the large pink hoop has gone viral, and it's all because dad Maurice convinces this little go-getter that she's doing it all by herself!
Mom Maya says she filmed the video to show it family members who didn't live nearby, and had no idea that it would spread into the hearts of thousands of strangers all over the world. She told Inside Edition:
"We were at the zoo Sunday and they have like a little DJ booth set up and hula hoops on the ground for the kids. And she saw some older kids hula hooping. And she wanted to hula hoop and I had my back turned answering text messages and stuff..."
Aubrey couldn't quite get the hang of it at first, so dad sneaked up behind her and started pulling the hula hoop around her body while she shook her hips like Elvis Presley!
As any parent or grandparent knows, there's a reason Aubrey's particular age group is called "the terrible two's." Dad Maurice actually had an ulterior motive behind his sneaky helping hand - he got involved to keep Aubrey from becoming fussy. He said:
"I knew she was gonna want to go over there and try it out. So, she picked it up, so I just looked at it and started spinning it around her. Then she just started shaking like she was doing it herself."
As the cutie pie spun the hoop around, he made sure to keep the momentum going so that she wouldn't get frustrated every time it dropped to the ground.
Maya and Maurice joke that their toddler is always up to fun antics like this. With older siblings in the house, the smartypants picks up on things very quickly!
"She's the youngest of five so she has older siblings that are adults and teenagers and she picks up like that. Like, if she sees you do something once, she wants to do it. She loves music so she's always dancing. jumping on the couch, whatever."
Now that their Aubrey has "mastered" the art of the hula hoop, mom and dad say that dance or gymnastics lessons are a likely possibility in her near future.
Maurice turns things in the right direction for this spinning lil' dervish!
