Cop Approaches Mother In Parked Vehicle Only To Be Left Surprised In The End

We definitely don’t like to get tickets for parking too long or pulling over in places that we are not allowed to park. It is an expense that we'd prefer to live without and certainly something that we can avoid. Whenever one gets a ticket we know that we will not only have to pay the fine but we also may be inconvenienced because we need to appear before a judge if we want to battle the ticket.
However, for one New York mom who was looking out for her child's needs a parking ticket was the last thing she had in mind when it came to making sure that her newborn baby was well-fed.
Guillermina Rodriguez knew that she was not allowed to pull over on a busy commercial street in New York City, but seeing that her three-week-old daughter was crying hysterically and needed to be fed while she was stuck in traffic Guillermina had no choice but to stop her car and breastfeed her little one. The only spot she saw open was in a commercial parking zone but the mom pulled over and got in the backseat of her car to begin breastfeeding her baby girl. Moments later, a tow truck was positioning itself in front of her vehicle wanting to tow her car from the busy area.
Guillermina wanted to tell the police officer what she was doing and that she had to do it. But, she obviously couldn’t because her baby was feeding and at the same time she was pumping milk.
Seeing that the cop was intent on towing her vehicle without looking inside, she hastily honked her horn to let the officer know that she was there. When the police officer had to press his face in on the window to see what was going on inside the car he realized what she was up to.
However, since the officer had already written the ticket and had no authority to void it he still ended up placing the ticket with a $115 fine on the windshield of Guillermina’s car. This meant that the breastfeeding mother would have to show up in court to explain her situation.
After the encounter Guillermina was shocked about the entire encounter stating that she was simply trying to feed her baby during a busy time in New York City during traffic. Everyone, not just mothers, know that it is of utter importance to feed a baby when they are hungry, regardless of where they are. Telling a mother that they can’t when it is clearly needed by her child is simply unacceptable.
