Pentatonix Ushers In Chilly Weather With Hot New Remake

Just in time to kick off the holiday season and chillier weather comes the global superstar a cappella group Pentatonix with their first hit off their Christmas album “Pentatonix: Christmas is Here!” They remade “Sweater Weather,” a song originally recorded by American Indie rock group The Neighbourhood.

So far, Pentatonix’s heartwarming and charmingly cuddly video has been viewed thousands upon thousands of times. It’s no wonder!

The Neighbourhood released their version of “Sweater Weather” in 2011 with an eclectic black and white video montage. Pentatonix’s version is upbeat and jovial in true Pentatonix a cappella style.

The group of five are of course wearing festive sweaters, sitting in front of a faux fire surrounded by a gorgeous stone and wood fireplace. Their upbeat and groovy version of this song will really get your toes tapping!

This a cappella group from Arlington, Texas, likely doesn’t experience sweater weather back home quite like those in the Midwest, but the three-time Grammy award-winning and multi-platinum-selling singers pull off this video perfectly. The setting is incredibly cozy and inviting, making you dream of snowflakes and hot chocolate while you listen to them sing.

The song also kicks off their holiday tour with its emotional lyrics. Many of the locations for their holiday concerts are understandably already sold out.

“‘Cause it’s too cold whoa for you here and now so let me hold whoa both your hands in the holes of my sweater and if I may just take your breath away I don’t mind if there’s not much to say sometimes the silence guides our minds to so move to a place so far away.”

The five group members include Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee. In true Pentatonix style, they lay down the beat with percussion sounds hitting their chests, singing in exceptional harmony with deep and rich bass lines.

Kirstin sits down on the ground with the guys behind her. The beatboxing is funky and lends a real kick to the song that you are sure to fall in love with.

Pentatonix has a beautiful blend of original songs and exceptional covers to their name. They are best known for their Christmas songs, including religious hymns, but this one definitely is excitingly different.
