Elderly Couple Is Photographed In Makeup Aisle, But Once Real Story Gets Out Internet In Tears

Sometimes, it's the smallest gesture of kindness that can have the biggest impact. In this case, it involved something as simple as shopping for makeup. But as anyone who has ever shopped for these beauty essentials knows, because there are so many choices, it can be hard to decide what to buy.
Fortunately, one woman didn't have to make that decision alone. As she struggled to find the right color of makeup to match her skin, her husband patiently stepped in to assist her. Once he helped her find just the right color, he kissed her on the forehead to celebrate their success.

The scene appears ordinary at first, until you think about it. As the online platform Love What Matters posted on its Facebook page,
"It was such a simple way to show how big his love was for her. A perfect reminder that our bodies grow old but our love doesn't have to."
Many people who responded to this post expressed their admiration for the love this elderly couple has for each other. Others shared similar stories of acts of kindness they have witnessed. One woman told the story of an elderly man who took his wife to get her hair done:
"I assume she had dementia the way she was acting and the way her sweet husband was talking to her. It truly was the sweetest thing. He was feeding her cookies making sure the dryer wasn't too hot, giving her sips of a milkshake. Telling her how beautiful she looked. I found out he does this every week! Such a beautiful love they share!"
For other people, the touching story about the couple shopping for makeup reminded them of their own family members and how inspirational their love stories are. As one woman shared,
"My grandma and grandpa married 57 years, been a couple for 60 years. He has been very sick the last few months but still puts her first and still looks at her like a love struck teenager! Blessed with the best example of what a relationship and marriage should be and look like!!"
