Mom & Son Take Picture With NFL Player On Street, But Minutes Later He Tracks Them Down

A mother and her son had a chance encounter with an NFL star in Chicago that they will likely never forget.
Julia Nicoll and 11-year-old Peter were waiting to cross the street in the downtown area when her son noticed that the man next to them appeared to be Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.
A Packers-Bears game was scheduled for the following night, so it seemed plausible. Yet, Julia was skeptical.
According to Packers News, she said to her son:
"I'm whispering to him like (in a doubting tone), ‘Really? I don't think Aaron Rodgers is standing right next to us on the corner on a Saturday evening.'"
Julia nonchalantly peered at the man and realized he was indeed the NFL star. She was a little shy about speaking to him because she didn't want to pester him. But she was compelled to ask:
He looked right back at her and confirmed that he was. Sometimes, fame has a way of getting to your head. But Aaron was nothing but friendly to Julia and Peter.
He explained that he was checking out the city prior to having dinner. He spent several minutes chatting with the two of them and even talked about his collar bone injury.
At one point, Peter admitted he was a Bears fan, but Rodgers was not offended. He said it made sense since they lived in Chicago.
After another group of people recognized Aaron and asked to take some pictures, so Julia and Peter stepped to the side. They were surprised when Aaron picked up the conversation where it left off.
Julia told Packers News:
"He just started talking to us again like we were all neighbors and friends. We walked with him again for the next 15 minutes, 20 minutes to Michigan Avenue."
Julia was impressed by Aaron's easy-going attitude and interest in her and her son's lives. She noted:
"It was so amazing. It was really something, I have to say. It still is."
Then something even more extraordinary happened a short time later. The pair was at Macy's looking at the Christmas displays when they noticed a fellow shopper wearing Packers gear.
Julia couldn't help but share the news that she met Aaron and that he was such a nice guy. The woman patted her arm and revealed that her son also played for the Packers. He's running back Ty Montgomery.
Julia couldn't believe the coincidence.
She didn't plan on publicizing her story, but a friend from Wisconsin encouraged her to do so because Packers' fans would love to hear about it. So Julia did. She told the news reporter:
"I'm sharing with the world what a fabulous human being Aaron Rodgers is."
