11-Year-Old Girl Begins Elvis Classic But No One Expects Her To Sound Just Like The King Himself

One of the things Elvis Presley was most famous for, other than his swinging hips, was his deep baritone voice. This is one of the reasons why it could be surprising that a petite 11-year-old girl is taking her own swing at performing his songs.
Angelina Jordan is a preteen girl from Oslo, but, thanks to a talent-reality show appearance in her native country of Norway, she is also an international singing sensation. She took first-place in the talent competition when she was just eight-years-old. Since then Angelina has appeared on television in the U.S., the U.K., and her online videos rack up millions of views.
During a performance at the iconic Fredriksten Fortress in Halden, Angelina wowed the crowd with her performance of Elvis Presley's classic tune "It's Now Or Never."
She performed on a small stage in the center of the audience, dressed in a light-colored frock and a crown of purple flowers around her head. Within moments her stunning voice had the audience captivated!
Aside from her incredibly young age and talent, one thing most people notice about Angelina is that she almost always performs barefoot.
This not just a comfort or style choice on her part, but a part of her formative experiences in her short-but-eventful life. Angelina met a young orphan who'd recently lost her mother during a family trip to Asia. Angelina was stunned by the life of hardship of the girl similar to her in age, so much so that she gave the girl the shoes off of her feet. Angelina detailed this in a kid's book she co-wrote, featuring drawings done by her grandmother.
During Angelina's performance in Halden, the crowd seemed delighted to hear the young woman sing the Elvis tune. Cameras in the crowd captured audience members singing along and swaying to the music.
What none of the fans expected, however, was the maturity and depth in young Angelina's voice. At an age when most kids are still playing with action figures and coloring books, Angelina is performing for packed crowds.
Angelina is a student at the Oslo Waldorf School and participates in an after-school program hosted by the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts, continuing her vocal training. She also plays the piano, the flute, and the violin.
Angelina has had many lucky breaks and has met those opportunities with a dedication to her craft that ensures we'll all be hearing about her for years to come!
