Giving your child to another set of parents is one of the most selfless things a mother can do. Not only do you have to deal with the guilt of giving up your child, but you also have to deal with a judgemental world that doesn't understand why you've decided on adoption.
Unfortunately for Hannah Mongie, she was left pregnant and alone for a heartbreaking reason. After weeks of contemplating what to do, Hannah landed on adoption...
Hannah and her boyfriend found out they were pregnant after dating for a while. The thought of bringing a child into the world was exciting and they went to all of the doctor's appointments and classes together - it was such a joyous time in their lives. But then the unthinkable happened.
Shortly after hearing their unborn son's heartbeat, Hannah's boyfriend passed away.
Coping with his passing was too much to bear and the idea of raising their son without him crushed Hannah. That's when she decided on giving their boy to a family who could love him and give him everything he would ever need.
After finding the perfect family, Hannah gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Tagg. But before she passed her boy over to his new parents, Hannah recorded a video to give to Tagg when he was old enough to understand.
Hannah shared the video with the Love What Matters page and wrote:
"This is my son, Tagg, whom I placed for adoption. This video was created so that he would be able to look back and know that this decision was made purely out of love for him.
He will never have to think that I 'gave him up' or that I did not love him.
He will always be able to know that I loved him more than anyone else in this world."

"I hope anyone who watches this will be able to gain a new perspective on what the Birth Mom goes through when she places her child for adoption. It is the FURTHEST thing from a heartless act.
It shows the definition of love. To love someone this much is to give away your happiness for them.
A lot of people have asked about possibly seeing him again in the future... This is an OPEN adoption. I get to see him all the time, thanks to his wonderful Mommy."
Even though giving up Tagg was the hardest thing she ever had to do, Hannah will be able to have an open relationship with him thanks to the incredible adoptive family. We wish them all nothing but the best in the years to come!
