Nerdy Trio Wants to Wow Judges, Audience Has Other Plans

When it comes to performing, looks matter when making a first impression, so it seemed strange when three nerdy guys in jeans and plaid shirts took the stage on an unforgettable episode of America's Got Talent.
However, as we've learned by now, when it comes to showcasing hidden or undiscovered talents, looks often have nothing to do with it.
These three singers didn't hold back, performing a soulful rendition of the 2014 break-up anthem by Ariana Grande, "Problem." The song celebrates the end of a bad relationship with it's catchy hook promising that they have "one less problem without" the person who wronged them so.
Using harmonies and even a little bit of rapping, Triple Threat surprised the judges with their energy, their heart, and how much the audience loved it. Even Nick Cannon, the master of ceremonies and a sometimes rapper and R&B artist, couldn't help but give the guys props for nailing their performance.
When the trio finally finished their song, the judges seemed impressed but the crowd went wild. In the video below you can see them get to their feet like a wave washing over the audience.
Everyone likes these talent shows for the competitive aspect of it: voting for your favorite acts, waiting to see who wins, and who ends up going home. However, what really makes these shows great is that, for just a few minutes, it gives people a chance to shine who might not otherwise have it.
If Triple Threat took the stage anywhere else, the audience might laugh them off. But, thanks to shows like AGT, we know that sometimes amazing performances can come in unexpected packages.
