Niece Texts Mom Photo Of Clever Babysitting Trick
Marilyn Caylor 3/9/2018
Teens have been babysitting kids since time began, and for some girls, it's an easy way to earn some extra cash. But these days, babysitting has taken on an entirely different slant, and there are so many rules and regulations in place to protect the kid's welfare.
As a parent, leaving your child in the care of someone else takes a lot of trust. You can't just leave them with anyone! Most moms want sitters that have lots of experience under their belt.
Claudia Sorhaindo thought she made the right decision when she asked her teenage niece to babysit her 2-month-old daughter. But, it wasn't until mom received a text from her niece that she realized that not everyone follows the same rules when it comes to childcare.
Moms know that finding a babysitter at the very last minute is oftentimes a difficult, if not impossible, task. Sometimes family members can help out in a pinch, but they may not always be the right person for the job.
When Claudia needed to run a quick errand, she enlisted the help of her 15-year-old niece J'ann. The teen is one of 17 grandkids, so she's had plenty of experience with babysitting her extended family. On her Facebook page, Claudia said:
"So I had to run out the house for a quick min, so I asked my niece to babysit Baby Ava. A few min later I received a text saying that J'Ann wanted to make a sandwich but didn't want to let baby Ava out of her sight."
Even for experienced sitters some kids can be quite a handful, especially when you don't have spare hands to hold a baby, make a sandwich, and talk to friends on the phone all at the same time. What's a girl to do?
As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention, and J'ann's creativity gave birth to something hilariously unexpected! Even mom Claudia sort of agrees:
"Lord send help this was her solution...like really...creativity at its finest."
Awww, would you look at that. The cute little munchkin is tucked away safe and sound inside her auntie's impromptu kangaroo pouch! Even Ava's tiny little feet are poking out the other side so it looks like she's wearing a pair of shorts too. It's a perfect fit!
As cheeky as this story is, there is actually more depth to it. In 2011, Claudia's 3-month-old girl named Jenelle sadly passed away. Mom is naturally very protective of her baby girl, and it was heartwarming for her to see J'ann keep such a close eye on her daughter.
The clever teen certainly deserves some kudos for her ingenuity. After all, thinking on the fly takes real skill and talent! Since Claudia posted the hilarious photos on Facebook, they have been shared more than 6,800 times.
