People Crack Up Laughing When They Spot Funny Signs

Passerby in Lubbock, Texas were cracking up over a friendly feud between a Wendy's hamburger joint and a drink business across the street. In a series of funny roadside marquee signs, the two long-time neighbors wagged fingers at one another, leaving residents in stitches.
However, there's at least one important point they both seemed to agree on... All is fair in food and war. In this witty "sign battle" between a popular fast food chain and local water dispenser store, it's not hard to figure out who started all the beef, and who threw some icy-cold comebacks in their face.
According to Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, this unlikely love story began when the Pure Water Ice & Tea Company innocently offered Texas Tech head football coach Kliff Kingsbury a free drink via its roadside sign. Wendy's then tried to entice the coach over to their team by offering him some free food in addition to free drinks!
Pure Water sent Twitter feeds into a tizzy after they put up a new sign that read:
"You want beef, Wendy's? You've got it."
Not to be out-beefed, Wendy's retorted with a clever drive-thru pun:
"Come through and get served - you deserve it!"
The football coach could probably sense that a round of silly headbutting was about to commence, so he declined both offers and instead opted to laugh on the sidelines, along with everyone else.
As the sweet rivalry began to heat up between these two businesses, locals started to actually enjoy driving through the intersection during their commutes.
In a sly nod to their neighbor across the the street, the hamburger chain let non-patrons know that they meant business:
"Wendy's parking only. Violators will be served Pure Water."
I guess it's a good thing Pure Water's tea is stronger than Wendy's puny attempt at sign language!
Wendy's is a rebel in the burger world, and they proudly serve beef patties that are shaped into perfect little squares. Pure Water decided to take a sneaky jab at the restaurant's oddly-shaped chunks of meat, and boldly declared:
"Burgers aren't the only thing square at Wendy's."
Wendy's general manager, Santos Perez, countered the jab with:
"Everyone knows Wendy's squares up, you ain't bout that life."
As much as everyone loved watching the back and forth teasing unfold, the adorable summer fling soon came to an end - and the signs were no longer able to play anymore. Without so much as a goodbye, Pure Water and Wendy's hilarious, bittersweet romance was over.
Awww, it was certainly fun while it lasted! At least these Texas residents were able to have their boring commutes become a little brighter - at least for a while.
