A Melbourne, Australia, native has proved that despite the hardships he had endured growing up, with a bit of hard work and perseverance, you can indeed turn your life around. Harrison Craig was 19 years old when he appeared on the second series of the Australian talent show The Voice.
Harrison had shared his personal story with the judges and audience that his father abandoned the family when he was six, which compounded the vocal stutter Harrison was born with. But one thing he and his mother discovered early on is that when he sings, the stutter disappears.
Harrison was born with a beautiful voice and his mother helped him develop his God-given talent. Fans of the show were enraptured by Harrison's heartbreaking story and fully engaged in his audition process.
They witnessed how the stutter would emerge when he was nervous while speaking with the judges. For his semi-final performance on The Voice Australia, Harrison performed "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers, which showcases his amazing voice.
His deep rich voice was unleashed in this classic song, rousing the audience and leaving the judges in shock. His coach on the show, Seal, can be seen with his jaw dropping in awe of Harrison's spectacular performance.
When Harrison surprises everyone by nailing a high note on the phrase "I need your love," one of the judges shoots her hand straight up in the arm. She cannot believe what she's hearing!
Apparently neither can the audience, because they burst into wild applause. The raw emotion Harrison exhibits while singing is spine tingling.
Not surprising, Harrison's rendition of "Unchained Melody" ended up climbing to No. 2 on the Australian singles chart. The video below highlights how incredible Harrison's vocal range is and how pure and smooth he sings.
